Check Point recruits to focus on telco
Security vendor, Check Point Software, has recruited new telco staff and will ask channel partners to help it win a bigger share of that market.
The appointment of A/NZ carrier and ISP business manager, Jamie Stafford, and A/NZ channel coordinator, Belinda Falk, come as the company aims to focus more on partnerships and services in the telco market, according to A/NZ country manager, Scott McKinnel.
"With the appointment of an industry specific carrier and ISP business manager, the company is able to identify the different areas of the telco market to be addressed," he said, "Stafford's experience in the telco industry provides the company with a better perspective of all the requirements."
Stafford would mainly focus on infrastructure network, mobile and connection gateways and examining its telco base to see how they are offering managed services. He was previously market development manager for Telecom New Zealand.
Stafford said he would also be working with the channel to build a stronger telco focus.
"I want to strengthen the company's relationships over time and have a more strategic focus on the telcos we deal with," he said.
