Maxon Cinema 4D R11

Cinema 4D R11 is the next-generation version of Maxon’s 3D animation software suite and offers non-Linear animation, a boost in rendering speed and quality including Re-Engineered global illumination, and the projection Man Matte Painting SystemCinema. Maxon claims expanded integration options, new workfl ow tools and boosts in performance for both PC and Mac users over previous editions sit t the heart of the new release. The nonlinear animation system allows users to move beyond the keyframe, while animation layers and motion clips tools let users build, layer and loop discrete motions containing hundreds of keyframes, according to the vendor. The Projection Man matte painting system, which was developed by Maxon for Sony Pictures Imageworks, utilises camera mapping to project detailed painting onto geometry that 3D cameras can then move through. The software suite also supports Collada file format and CineMan; a RenderMan-compliant tool that connects to Pixar’s rendering solution. Additionally, multiple improvements have been made to Maxon’s texture painting toolset, BodyPaint3D Release 4.

Oki C710

C710 colour printers can handle a wide variety of media formats and paper weights for enhanced user flexibility, according to Oki. The new machines allow customers to print anything from business cards and CD labels up to 1.2m banners – in both colour and mono. All three C710 models (C710n, C710dn and C710dtn) feature Print Control and the Secure Erase and Secure Print utilities to safeguard confidential office information and unauthorised printing. There are also monitoring and control tools to assist in minimising running costs. In addition, all printers have networked capability as standard and allow data sent to the printer to be encrypted across the network. The printers include Oki’s single-pass digital LED print technology to ensure fast reliable printing. The high capacity toner cartridges and optional 530-sheet paper trays increase total capacity to 1690 sheets. The two-piece printer consumables are simple to change, ensuring high productivity in demanding business environments, the vendor claims. Other features include high performance A4 print speeds of 30ppm and standard duplex (optional on the C710n) for double-sided printing.
