AOC Jenio 919Pwz and 2219P2
This new series of widescreen LCD monitors from AOC aims to combine technology and ergonomics in an aesthetically pleasing design. Both the 19-inch (919Pwz) and 22-inch (2219P2) monitors feature adjustable height and a screen that pivots from landscape to portrait orientation. In either position, the 19-inch model offers higher definition than regular 19-inch widescreen panels, with 1680 x 1050 resolution rather than the usual 1440 x 900, the vendor claims, which makes the Jenio series useful in home, corporate and creative applications. Physical appearance is enhanced by a two-tone silver and black bezel design, while both screens have built-in stereo speakers to provide functional audio playback. The screen display has a super-fast 2ms (GTG) response time and 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which is ideal for playing the latest games and ensure flicker-free viewing, AOC claims. The monitors have a brightness of 300cd/m2. Both Jenio monitors have VGA and DVI inputs.

FileMaker Bento
FileMaker claims Bento is a ‘personal assistant in a box’ that helps Mac users organise their lives. The software seamlessly synchronises information about a user’s tasks, along with contacts and calendars, between their Mac notebook or desktop and their iPhone. According to the vendor, it has been designed to connect related information together so users can get a more complete picture of everything they’re tracking from one place. The Bento unit features built-in links to Mac OS X Address Book and iCal applications, meaning a user does not need to re-enter all their contact and calendar info to get started. It also has more than 20 ready-to-use templates and simple iTunes-like searching for ease of use, as well as customisable themes that allow users to personalise the look of their contacts, tasks and events. Virtually any type of information can be stored by choosing from a variety of field type options. Users can also drag-and-drop lists from any other kind of spreadsheet, such as Microsoft Excel, into the organiser for example. Users will need to be running Mac OS X v1.5 or above with systems with at least 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended).
