Infrastructure provider, S Central, has brought Adrian Sharkey on-board to develop its national VMware practice.

In his new role, Sharkey said he will develop a more complete practice around virtualisation for S Central and in the process create an end-to-end solution.

"I've been given the opportunity to revamp S Central's strategy around virtualisation," Sharkey said. "I've been tasked to develop solutions that encompass the whole of an organisation's datacentre."

Sharkey has replaced Chris Troiani, who has moved to EMC to work in the storage vendor's virtualisation business.

S Central currently has 200 staff. In the past year it has acquired a number of companies around storage, virtualisation and Citrix solutions. The company made seven acqusitions last year including integrators Clariti, Rich Computing, as well as ExpressApps and its distribution arm, Infotronics. S Central has also purchased AGM IT and DA Library.

Sharkey was previously with Alphawest as its national practice manager for systems and storage group. He has also been with the Optus group for seven years in a wide variety of roles based around relationships and contracts management.
