PC Tools launches reseller sales portal
Security software vendor, PC Tools, has launched a global Web portal enabling resellers to purchase its products online.
Vice-president for global reseller business, Troy Vertigan, said the fully automated portal meant resellers could apply and place an order in real-time. The registration codes were then automatically emailed to them.
"Whether they are in the office or on at a customer's site, they can just download the software from our website and register the full version with the license they have ordered," he said.
PC Tools produces security tools combating spyware and malware. It offers two types of software licenses - single and multi-user. Vertigan said resellers could bulk buy individual activation codes and on sell them. Partners will also have access to the vendor's latest software, PC Tools CheckUp, which runs from a USB memory stick and can be plugged into the customer's PC. This conducts a full scan that helps detect any computer problems.
"It generates a report that shows the customer what the problems are; if they want to purchase our software they can simply deploy it straight from the utility," Vertigan said.
PC Tools was keen to connect with VARs, computer retailers and repair shops as well as network integrators, he said.
"Globally our target is to attract over 5000 resellers by the end of the year and locally we would like to have about 1000," Vertigan said. Partner benefits include a minimum 33 per cent discount off the retail price of selected software products.
For this month only, partners that sign up to the portal will also receive five free Spyware Doctor activation codes.
