Sybase and Gamma go mobile together
Alliance to target Gamma's key sectors with improved solutions.
Matthew Sainsbury 22 February, 2008 17:09:58

Melbourne-based integrator, Gamma, has teamed up with mobility vendor, Sybase, to take its mobile management tools to market.

The vendor's flagship Afaria product is a mobile device management and security solution. Gamma will also market the RFID Anywhere platform and SQL Anywhere mobile database.

Gamma Solutions specialises in data capture hardware, software and services. Managing director, Michael Atallah, said target market sectors included transport and logistics, warehousing and healthcare. Existing customers include Mitre 10, Tabcorp and PrixCar.

"Sybase is a very good fit for our company. It has a strong mobility software offering that complements our hardware offerings - we think it will make things easier for our customers and save them time and resources," Atallah said.

Sybase director of channel and alliances, Steve Dolan, said it was selective about which partners it worked with. The vendor has about 20 local partners in the mobility space.

"Gamma had to demonstrate success in the mobility area, and the capacity to work with our key partners," he said.

Dolan said Gamma's strong relationship with Intermec was also a deciding advantage for the integrator in gaining accreditation.
