Disaster recovery vendor, Acronis, has appointed Simon Bills as its national distribution manager after a year of strong growth.
Acronis general manager of A/NZ, Bill Taylor-Mountford, said the appointment brought the total local headcount to six. Two further appointments are scheduled to be made this year - one in engineering and one in administration.
"We want to be a good vendor to our partners and we're seeing a great increase in volume opportunities," Taylor-Mountford said.
In his role, Bills is responsible for partner training, marketing initiative, programs, sales collateral and lead generation.
"We're trying to assist our distributors to recruit partners through PR and marketing. We've currently got around 200 active resellers across our four distributors, Manaccom, SAN Systems, Datastor and Infotronics," Taylor-Mountford said.
Prior to joining Acronis, Bills was with Quantum for 11 years in various channel roles, most recently as managing enterprise partners in ACT, NSW and Queensland.
Acronis opened its Sydney office in May 2007 and claims to have tripled its sales revenue over the last year.
