Mimosa Systems this week unveiled legal discovery and compliance modules for its e-mail archiving and continuous data protection software.

NearPoint for Microsoft Exchange Server 2.0 now includes an e-mail search option that can be used for legal discovery and regulatory compliance. The NearPoint eDiscovery Option allows customers to discover e-mails required by the courts for investigations. The NearPoint Compliance Storage Option is integrated with 'tamperproof' media such as content addressable storage (CAS) and Write Once Read Many (WORM) drives to ensure record level retention and disposition of e-mail and attachments.

Version 2.0 also includes the ability to create a thread of conversations and message for litigation support and investigations and a workflow process that allows discovery teams to search, hold, review, tag and export results.

Version 2.0 is also now compliant with EMC's Centera. NearPoint for Microsoft Exchange Server starts at US$10,000 for 100 mailboxes. The product is available now.
