WhiteGold Solutions has teamed up with WAN optimisation vendor, Exinda Networks.
The distributor's managing director, Dominic Whitehand, cited strong demand for WAN optimisation and acceleration in the market.
"We've had some feedback from the channel and in the last few months we've been looking at all the players in the market," he said. "The demand has been coming from organisations who are struggling with the performance of applications across the wide area network."
Whitehand anticipated the new deal would inject about $2 million in revenues throughout the first year. WhiteGold joins Techplus in Exinda's distribution ranks.
Network, security and mission critical application specialists would benefit from offering the new range, Whitehand said. The distributor has about 750 partners on its books. Resellers will be able to join Exinda's Fast Track program, which was locally launched in January.
Whitehand said he was in the process of signing on more vendors in an effort to expand WhiteGold's portfolio beyond security. In April, the distributor signed up with Isilon Systems to kickstart its storage division.
Exinda vice-president of sales for Asia-Pacific, Jim Christie, said WhiteGold had a strong focus on security products and partners that were experts in technologies such as VPNs and firewalls.
"It was a good combination for us because the partners that work in that space are very knowledgeable about traffic and the sorts of things that pass through the network," Christie said. "Our focus is to work with distributors and spend some time boarding, training and assisting partners with initial deals."
