Eureka hopes to strike gold at CeBIT
Storage distributor Eureka Pacific sees this year's Australian CeBIT show as the perfect opportunity to launch its line of consumer focused backup devices and pick up a number of retail resellers, according to CEO Alexei Mazin.
"What better show than CeBIT to show off a good product to both consumers and resellers in the one venue," he said.
As the sole Australian distributor for Fastora, Eureka Pacific will be unveiling the manufacturer's line of ExBoot disaster recovery devices that are aimed at the consumer and SMB market.
The three units in the ExBoot range use preloaded software that automatically backs-up data onto an external USB drive. The EXB-0111, EXB-0121 and EXB-0131 feature 1.8in, 2.5in and 3.5in hard drives respectively.
Mazin said the addition of consumer focused products would fill a gap in the distributor's portfolio of products that previously only catered to high end enterprise storage needs.
Eureka is hoping to use CeBIT as a springboard to launch into the consumer space and is looking to sign a number of retail resellers to stock its products.
"It's an opportunity to educate the market. The biggest problem for specialist distributors like us is that you might have a really good product but are up against well established brand names that are not always as good products," Mazin said. "CeBIT lets everyone show off what they've got on an equal field."
CeBIT Australia managing director, Jackie Taranto said that storage space popularity was growing rapidly with attendees of the show.
"We have about three times as many exhibitors in that area this year than last," she said. "As businesses move towards the paperless office we are seeing a demand for increased digital storage capacity. The interest is demonstrated by the figures: last year 29.2 per cent of visitors came to see storage solutions."
Taranto said the show would feature 700 exhibitors and is expecting over 30,000 business visitors.
CeBIT Australia runs from May 9-11 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour.
