Energy-saving vendor to offer appliances through channel

TrickleStar close to signing with distributor in a market prime to adopt its hardware
Matthew Sainsbury 09 October, 2008 11:38:00

Hong Kong-based energy-saving product vendor, TrickleStar, is on the verge of launching a channel to enter the Australian market.

TrickleStar founder, Bernard Emby, said the vendor was in the advanced stages of setting up its distribution model, having identified a distributor it would like to work with, and is in the process of sourcing resellers.

“We’ve got no local footprint, so we’re keen to work with partners to build the brand, which is marketable in fields from utilities through audio-visual installers to retail,” Emby said.

The Australian market appealed to TrickleStar due to its environmental consciousness and relative lack of competition, Emby said.

“Australia is like the US and Europe; people are waking to the importance of sustainability, so the market opportunity for our products is well developed here.”

TickleStar products stop the flow of standby power in PC appliances and TV accessories such as printers, modems, speakers, scanners, DVD players, amplifiers, and games consoles when they are in ‘standby’ mode. TrickleStar's other selling point over the competition is its return on investment to the user in six to 12 months, depending on how heavily it is used, according to Emby.
