Sendmail adds outbound compliance to security appliance
Sendmail has released a new version of its Sentrion messaging security appliance that adds protection for outbound e-mail.
Sentrion Message Processor is designed to protect organizations from inbound threats as well as ensure that outbound messages adhere to compliance rules, without affecting the performance of message processing, according to company officials.
With the new outbound data leak prevention features, organizations can monitor the content sent out via e-mail to ensure that federal or industry regulations and corporate policies are being met, officials say.
Sentrion's inbound features include spam and virus protection, connection control that throttles back messages deemed suspect, policy implementation designed to keep communications in line with regulations and corporate mandates, and the archiving and encrypting of messages, according to officials.
All of these features can be administered from a Web interface.
The Sentrion Message Processor starts at US$25,000.
