Carbonite Australia, the local distributor of the award-winnng Carbonite Online PCBackup™ solution, has appointed Arthur Koulianos to the role of Product Manager.

The leading consumer backup service in North America, Carbonite Online PCBackup was introduced into Australia in March this year when Avalanche Technology Group established its subsidiary, Carbonite Australia P/L.

The appointment of Mr Koulianos signals a major push by the new company to forge partnerships with leading stakeholders, including ISPs, industry associations, user groups, the education market and key players in the small to medium business sector.

He joins Carbonite Australia from McMillan Shakespeare Australia, where he developed and launched programs for retailers and employers to enable workers to purchase technology items via salary sacrifice.

Mr Koulianos previously worked with Boss Software International, Transurban Group and IOOF, where he managed key product portfolios and developed branding strategies to drive sales and grow market share.

Director of Carbonite Australia, Peter Cameron, said Mr Koulianos’ appointment is a major step forward for the new company.

“Arthur has a strong background in product management, business development and strategic relationship management, and brings with him the critical skills that Carbonite Australia will need to establish itself as the leading consumer PC backup service in this market,” he said.

“Carbonite Online PCBackup offers a compelling value proposition for consumers and small businesses, offering unlimited online storage for their PC files and complete peace of mind for $5 a month. Arthur will help us to take that message to the market, enabling us to build brand awareness amongst those who most need our services, the SOHO and SMB users who rarely back up their computers, but who would be badly affected if their PC was damaged or stolen.”
