Interactive Intelligence launches local partner training

Certification program to be held in Sydney to help service the IP communication vendor's growing reseller base

Unified IP communications vendor, Interactive Intelligence, has launched a local version of its certification program for its partners.

Previously partners needed to travel to the company’s regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur for training. Interactive Intelligence country manager, Brendan Maree, said the decision to launch a local version of the program was in response to company growth.

“We’re not seen as a satellite office any longer. As our local presence grows it makes sense for the channel that our partners don’t need to travel internationally to gain certification,” Maree said.

The first training course will be staged in Sydney from September 1-12, with five partners participating. Four more are slated for a second course, to be run in November. The course takes between one and two weeks, depending on whether the partner is gaining certification in the vendor’s SMB or enterprise solution set.

Interactive Intelligence now has 11 partners locally, Maree said. Staff numbers have also grown, up from two years ago to six.

“We’re bringing on a dedicated channel manager in the next three to six months,” Maree said. “Nationally, there’s room for 30 to 40 partners, and we're just starting to pick up the pace on this now.”
