ASG scores with WA government

Systems support services reap millions for IT services provider

WA IT services provider, ASG Group, has scooped up a two-year, $6 million contract to provide application systems support services to the WA Department of Corrective Services (DCS).

Western region general manager, Murray Rosa, said the contract - which includes a one-year extension option - was a good win for the business against strong competition.

Rosa said support services would largely centre on Microsoft and Oracle applications, which were fast becoming a mainstay in the ASG stable.

"ASG has gone through fairly aggressive growth in the last two years and we now have 600-plus staff across the country," he said. "We've been focused on Oracle for a long time but the last 18 months we've been growing our Microsoft capability."

While the win would certainly pave the way to further government work, Rosa was keen to downplay future deals.

"There's a huge amount of development going on in Western Australian Government but, right now, we're focused on delivering these services to Corrective Services," he said.
