Technology services provider, The Frame Group, has appointed Dr Raymond Young as its thought leader and principal consultant across Project Governance.
Prior to joining The Frame Group, Young worked in academic fields with a focus on governance and was a founding member of the Standards Australia committee set up to develop IT governance standards. He was also former CIO at FBA Computer Technology Services, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Australia.
The Frame Group national sales and marketing manager, Roger Barlow, said the appointment tied in with the development of the company's consulting practice. He claimed customers increasingly needed to ensure they had good governance in place.
"We're going to make more appointments around governance soon. We've got half-a-dozen working in the area at the moment. I expect that number to double over the next 12 months," Barlow said. "The area only accounts for around five per cent of our business, but it has huge strategic importance for us."
In a release, Young said the typical ROI for IT projects was around 30 per cent. He claimed, through good governance processes, that figure should be at least 135 per cent and could be as high as 240 per cent.
Barlow said The Frame Group was now approaching 120 employees and was in the process of hiring more business development staff. The company also recently recruited staff for its Queensland office.
He saidd the biggest growth areas were datacentres and unified communications.
