Altech soars into new Galaxy
Altech Computers has landed an exclusive distribution deal with video card and motherboard vendor, Galaxy.
Altech managing director, Antony Sheen, said the vendor was searching for someone that was strong in video cards market.
"They have a lot of mid-range, over-clocking video cards, which is not common with graphics cards," he said. "Customers are not going to spend $1000 on a super duper graphics card. This brand is good value for money."
Sheen said the deal gave Altech with a good opportunity to differentiate itself from other distributors. Other video card vendors Altech has in its line-up include MSI, Leadtek, XpertVision, Innovision, eVGA, Gigabyte and HIS.
"Customers have different preferences and we are trying to fulfill all the possible demands," he said.
Sheen estimated the new range would add about $500,000 revenue per month.
He also plans to offer bundles including video cards with motherboards and high-end power supplies.
The types of resellers that would be sought to take Galaxy to market include DIY and system integrators. Partners would also be offered discounts on demo products.
"It gives the opportunity for resellers to expand their offerings to their customers," Sheen said
