Comsol picks up Aros UPS deal

Matt Sainsbury 14 November, 2007 14:42:02

Comsol has struck a deal with Riello Elettronica group member, Aros, to distribute the Italian vendor's UPS systems.

"Aros is the only UPS vendor we carry, and it's part of the complete solution we've been aiming for," Comsol national sales manager, Gavin Green, said.

Comsol has been aggressively fleshing out its vendor line-up to offer resellers complete datacentre solutions and has brought on remote monitoring vendor, Uptime, and data management vendors, LANDesk and NetClarity, in recent months.

According to Green, there were three main criteria for Comsol's decision to work with Aros.

"We wanted something that wasn't over-distributed in Australia, that offered a quality range, and had an approach to market that was similar to ours," he said.

There are two regions for UPS - the dominant American sector with vendors such as APC, and the European sector, which includes Riello and Socomec. Green said Riello's established channel strategy had prevented it bringing on more distributors. This was why its Aros subsidiary was an attractive option.
