S Central nabs Kaz finance chief
Services provider, S Central, has nabbed Kaz’s financial controller, Ashley Clarkson, as its first executive general manager of finance and administration.
S Central managing director, Peter Mavridis, said Clarkson will be responsible for overseeing the company financials as well as contracts, legal and HR. He starts on August 27.
Clarkson has spent several years at Kaz and before that was employed by Aspect Computing, which was acquired by Kaz in 2002.
“We’d been searching for nine months – this is one of those critical roles in an organisation that you have to find the right person for,” Mavridis said. “A few of our staff have also worked with Ashley before.”
Clarkson’s first project is to rollout S Central’s new general ledger accounting system nationally. He will also assist with fast-tracking back-end integration of the company’s many acquired subsidiaries. Over the past two years S Central has made eight acquisitions, the most recent being Queensland Citrix partner, Clariti, in December.
“We’ve done a lot of work on the front-end integration, but not as much on the back-end,” Mavridis said. “We’re expecting substantial growth this year.”
The company has also been busy beefing up its board and appointed former Baxter Group chief, Polly Mazaris, in March to help accelerate national growth plans.
Clarkson’s appointment rounds out S Central’s senior management team, which now consists of three national general managers across sales and marketing, service delivery and finance.
