Allsopp quits Juniper

Channel director takes a break from the corporate sector

Juniper channel director, Brian Allsopp, has quit his post and stepped out of the corporate sector.

“I decided to take a sabbatical from corporate life – 23 years in the industry, and particularly the last 11 years, have been fast paced and taken their toll,” he said. “I will be doing some work, but the plan is to spend more time with the family and get a better work/life balance.”

Allsopp has been with Juniper for four years, initially as its enterprise channels manager before running its Asia-Pacific distribution business. He took on the channel director’s role about 18 months ago.

“It’s been a fabulous four years with Juniper and very rewarding – we have a great team and have built a great channel,” Allsopp said. “The business is in a good position so it was perfect timing really.”

Prior to joining Juniper, he spent seven years with Cisco and was regional manager for its Linksys business.

Allsopp said he planned to spend at least 12 months outside the corporate world dabbling in some consulting work but being closer to home and his newborn son.

Juniper is now in the process of looking for a replacement and hopes to make an announcement shortly.

“Brian has played a critical role in building our success in the enterprise space and we are very appreciative of his commitment and contribution,” vice-president A/NZ, Shaun Page, said in a statement.
