Email Systems nabs industry veteran for local expansion

New office and channel programs for Web filtering company
Rob Irwin 11 October, 2007 17:28:19

Industry veteran, Charles Heunemann, has taken the managing director's reins at Web filtering company, Email Systems Asia-Pacific. He steps into a new Sydney office and will support its regional expansion plans.

The company claims to be investing more than $2 million into the APAC region. This includes the debut of two fully redundant datacentres in Australia and Hong Kong. They echo recent office openings in the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

Heunemann said the new focus also coincided with the launch of a new channel program.

"Email Systems has a 100 per cent channel model," he said. "Particularly in the initial stages, we're going to work directly with resellers and create some tight relationships with them and their customers."

While Heunemann wouldn't rule out adding a distribution layer to the mix at a later stage, he said it would be at least 12 months before such a decision was even on the radar.

"Distributors don't always get the traction on early stage technologies, so we'll work with the resellers first," he said. Heunemann promised new technical and sales training to local partners, in addition to new channel marketing programs and a sales incentive program.

"We want our resellers to establish long-lasting relationships with their customers," he said.
