Ethan Group launches in Canberra
Services integrator, Ethan Group, has continued expansion plans by opening an office in Canberra.
The office will initially be manned by two new staff, Michael Thompson and Bob Hughes.
Ethan Group Federal Government division manager, Shadi Haddad, said the goal was to hire up to five people by the end of the year.
“We’re provisioning to bring support and engineering staff there,” he said. “There’s been a recent push into managed services in Canberra, so we see it as a big growth area for us.”
Ethan Group has been operating in Canberra since 2005, when it won a contract with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
“Business in Canberra has since grown to cover a number of agencies, and we had always promised a local presence,” Haddad said. “The ACT now represents 10 per cent of the group’s revenue, and we’re getting good traction there with a lot of departments having discussions with us, so we see that figure growing.”
Haddad said the Canberra office gave the integrator a stake in every state other than the Northern Territory.
“The NT is not something we’ll be exploring in the near future, but it’s something we’ll consider if the demand is there,” he said.
Ethan Group has seen significant growth in Government business over the last few years, which Haddad expects to continue. The integrator has also won business recently after launching a campaign to win customers from the collapsed Commander.
