Packeteer PacketShaper 1400
Designed for branch offi ce and network edge deployments, this WAN application optimisation tool combines a high capacity appliance with builtin scalability. It offer customers the fl exibility of a software key upgrade path to enable traffi c shaping, application acceleration and compression options to deliver confi gurable WAN optimisation solutions that protect existing network infrastructure investments. It is ideal for small branch locations, such as retail environments that typically run fewer business critical applications. The smaller model can handle up to 64 application classes while tracking network and server delay and other application response time metrics. A model for larger environments features onboard reporting and enables customers to identify, report and measure the performance characteristics of up to 256 application classes.Distributed by Express Data and LAN Systems.
RRP: from $2000
Check Point Integrity 6.6
This centrally manages desktop fi rewall security, intrusion prevention, outbound threat protection, access policy enforcement and policy automation. Cooperating with other Check Point security solutions and third-party products, it provides Total Access Protection for the enterprise. It automatically updates antivirus and patches, terminates Trojan horses and other malware, removes spyware, blocks hacker intrusions, and ensures that both IT-managed and guest PCs are secure before they can connect to the enterprise network. Integrity is recommended for deployment within internal networks. It is supported by SmartDefense Services, which protect against new threats by providing real-time defence updates and configuration advisories.Distributed by LAN Systems.
RRP: from $1750 for 25 users.
HP ProCurve Switch 2900
This switch is designed for connecting a large number of PCs, servers and other host devices that require high-performance uplinks to the distribution/core of the network. It provides Gigabit-to-the-edge and 10GbE stacking/uplink, which increases performance and reduces network bottlenecks. High-bandwidth applications can be implemented without affecting other users. The integrated four 10GbE can be configured to be stacking, uplink, or a mix of both. The series features the 2900-24G and the 2900-48G.Distributed by Ingram Micro.
RRP: 2900-24G - $5516; 2900-48G - $8429
3Com Unified Gigabit Wireless PoE Switch
Aimed at the SMB market, this unified switch converges wired and wireless networking. It includes Power over Ethernet (PoE) to support VoIP telephony on a single platform. It is designed for SMBs that want all of the elements of a business-class network, as well as a platform for delivering advanced communications solutions such as wireless and VoIP. Purpose-built for organisations with 5-250 users, it enables organisations to manage all critical networking functions as one device because they are all integrated in a single unit. Features include full, Layer 2 line rate gigabit speeds with zero packet loss across all 24 ports; full 802.3af PoE support; auto-voice VLAN capability; and rogue wireless access point detection and mitigation.Distributed by Ingram Micro and LAN Systems.
RRP: $3680
Netgear GSM7328S/GSM7352S
Designed to remove network segmentation and lay the groundwork for new IP-based services, these 24- and 48-port gigabit stackable switches suit expanding networks. The Layer 3 routing of switches enables converged voice, video and data services over a single network infrastructure, reducing costs and simplifying operations. Incorporated into the switches are bandwidth provisioning and access control features, delivering full wirespeed and low latency throughput to all ports. The switches feature IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication and access control lists to maximise security. The four high-speed 24/48G module bays provide fl exibility, whether stacking between switches, attaching bandwidth-thirsty fi le servers, or aggregating critical data to the core of a network. Distributed by Ingram Micro, Synnex, BMS Technology, J Mills Distribution, Tecksel and TecVic Distribution.RRP: 24-port - $4299; 48-port - $6499
F5 Networks WebAccelerator 4500
This appliance comes in two versions - a standalone appliance and an addon software module for Big-IP traffi c management system. The appliance provides high availability, manageability, enhanced reliability and platform longevity. It offers packaged intelligence for the application being deployed, enabling customers to improve acceleration results, handle anomalies and reduce the cost of deployment. It features validated Web application acceleration policies and intelligent browser referencing technologies. The intelligent browser referencing capability lets organisations overcome issues that hamper Web application performance, including WAN latency and bad browser-side behaviour.Distributed by Firewall Systems.
RRP: The module will run on the BIG-IP 6400, 6800 and 8400 platforms with pricing from $21,743. Appliance pricing from $58,428.
