Tektronics name fades as FXPP launches new models
Fuji Xerox Phaser Printing has dropped the Tektronics brand from its colour printer range - including its newest models for workgroups.
“The Tektronics name for us is now obsolete,” national marketing manager, Clare Tipler, said. “The technology has such a great heritage that it is a shame to throw it away, but legalities stop us from using it.”
The Tektronics name and technology is a legacy from when Xerox bought its colour printing and imaging division, launching Fuji Xerox Phaser Printing Australia (FXPP). The vendor is happy to pay homage to the technology and channel relationships from the former organisation, but will now move away from the branding.
FXPP has just introduced two new colour printers with single pass technology for the office market. It claims the Phaser 7300 is the fastest colour printer on the market, printing 30 pages per minute in colour. The printer joins the popular 6200 and 8200 solid ink models and the Phaser 7700 laser printer.
“We are really serious about being the [top] player in the colour printing market," Tipler said. "We constantly see vendors going direct and putting their channel relationships at risk but we will remain 100 per cent channel focused – both now and in the future.”
