Communications integrator, GlobalConnect, has appointed Rob Carnell as its national sales manager. He fills the void left by Grant Howe, who left to take up the role of country manager for 3Com.
Carnell said his first point of focus was to expand the business geographically.
"We've been in Australia for three years now and have some large customers. It's time to expand past NSW and Victoria and we're looking at Adelaide and Brisbane at the moment," he said.
The telephony integrator will also be expanding its workforce to address broader territories. "We've got 65 people currently and we're going to hire another four or five in the immediate future," Carnell said.
Prior to joining the Avaya GlobalConnect subsidiary, Carnell ran his own telephone handsets training business called Startap, and previously spent three years with Alcatel-Lucent as vice-president of enterprise sales in Australasia.
