Fortinet® - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced a reseller recruitment campaign in Australia and New Zealand for Fortinet’s FortiPartner™ channel program, and the appointment of Ingram Micro as a distribution partner in New Zealand.

Charles Cote, regional director for Fortinet Australia and New Zealand commented, “Businesses across Australia and New Zealand are looking to consolidate and update their network security systems, which has led to rapid growth in demand for UTM appliances. Most businesses can significantly reduce their IT costs and enhance their network security with Fortinet’s integrated multi-threat solutions, so upgrading is an easy decision. As a result, we are looking to recruit additional FortiPartners with specialised skills in security, networking and convergence.”

The FortiPartner program aims to provide resellers with effective sales and marketing programs, training, and the support services needed to enable their business success. The FortiPartner program is tiered into Platinum, Gold and Silver levels, based on revenue attainment and training. There are now more than 70 FortiPartner members across Australia and New Zealand. Fortinet is looking to add another 30 resellers to the program by the end of 2008.

To handle recent growth in New Zealand, Fortinet has appointed Ingram Micro Solutions Group in New Zealand as a distributor. The new partnership will focus on offering UTM solutions to small-to-medium businesses.

Scott Cowen from Ingram Micro Solutions Group New Zealand commented, “We have identified UTM solutions as a high growth opportunity in New Zealand. Fortinet is the leader in the UTM space, with a wide range of products that is well suited to New Zealand businesses. We believe that Fortinet UTM solutions will help systems integrators and resellers to deliver complete security solutions to their clients.”

Charles Cote continued, “We have recently expanded our presence in New Zealand by opening an office, and are now adding Ingram Micro as a distribution partner for the New Zealand market. Our solutions make it easy for our partners to roll out managed security services to offices with fewer than 200 users, so we see great potential for business growth in New Zealand.”

Fortinet’s flagship product line, the FortiGate multi-threat security appliance, is distributed in Australia by Distribution Central, Lan 1 and Whitegold Solutions. Fortinet products are distributed in New Zealand by Distribution Central and Ingram Micro.

FortiGate systems are ASIC-accelerated security appliances that integrate essential security applications such as antivirus, firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention, Web filtering, anti-spam and traffic shaping. All FortiGate systems are kept up to date automatically by Fortinet's FortiGuard Network, which helps provide protection against the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, other unwanted network traffic and more - around the clock and around the world.

About Fortinet (www.fortinet.com) Fortinet is the pioneer and leading provider of ASIC-accelerated unified threat management, or UTM, security systems, which are used by enterprises and service providers to increase their security while reducing total operating costs. Fortinet solutions were built from the ground up to integrate multiple levels of security protection--including firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention, VPN, spyware prevention and anti-spam -- designed to help customers protect against network and content level threats. Leveraging a custom ASIC and unified interface, Fortinet solutions offer advanced security functionality that scales from remote office to chassis-based solutions with integrated management and reporting. Fortinet solutions have won multiple awards around the world and are the only security products that are certified in seven programs by ICSA Labs: (Firewall, Antivirus, IPSec, SSL, Network IPS, and Anti-Spyware). Fortinet is privately held and based in Sunnyvale, California.
