AMD's chip chief resigns
The chief of Advanced Micro Devices' PC processor unit, Larry Hollatz, resigned late last week.
Effective immediately, Hector Ruiz, AMD's president and chief operating officer, will serve as the acting head of the Computation Products Group, company officials said.
The group is responsible for producing AMD's Athlon and Duron families of processors.
AMD did not disclose details about why Hollatz left the company.
