Enterprise software vendor, Infor, has joined the Australian Government's Energy Star Service and Product Provider campaign to help customers improve their energy efficiency through its EAM Asset Sustainability Edition.
The software solution aims to help customers achieve Energy Star goals by monitoring energy consumption of assets including production equipment, boilers, lighting and refrigeration units. Infor manager of consulting performance management, Jon Mortenson, said the partnership proved it was working to a standard to help reduce its customer's energy consumption and carbon emissions.
"It's an internationally recognisable program and it differentiates us from our competitors," he said. "Over the last two years we have put a lot of planning into this because we see a need to assist our customers with reducing costs and carbon emissions."
The program is run by the Australian Government's Greenhouse Office. To obtain partnership, Mortenson said the company had to provide information on what its product does and how it helps reduce energy. It also had to show examples of customers using the product and it how benefited their organisation.
"We're giving them the tools to analyse this appropriately, make the right decisions, reduce carbon efficiency and costs," Mortenson said.
The company is in the process of rolling out the technology across its major sites in the US and globally. Mortenson said Infor aims to reduce its carbon emissions by about 10 per cent.
