Dialog implements Dynamic ERP for fruit provider

Microsoft certified integrator looks to build a presence in the fresh food industry
Matthew Sainsbury 18 June, 2008 14:06:44

Sydney-based integrator, Dialog Information Technology, has won a deal to implement Microsoft's Dynamics NAV platform for N&A Fruit Distributors.

The contract covers the deployment, implementation and support of the Dynamics NAV ERP suite along with LINKFresh, a third-party add-on application developed by UK-based Microsoft partner, Anglia Labs, and designed specifically for companies working in the food supply chain.

The solution replaces N&A Fruit Distributors' incumbent IronBark solution. Dialog marketing manager of Microsoft Dynamics, Keith Asher, said the integrator had approached N&A for the contract and said it was a significant win.

"Our research identified a huge opportunity to move into a new vertical. We identified over 200 organisations that could benefit from this solution," he said. "We expect to be working very closely with N & A for the first year of their MS support contract. We'll also be active in looking for ways to grow further."

Asher claimed Dialog had sole access to the Anglia Lab's LINKFresh add on in the Australian market and said it was as an advantage for the company as it moves into the food sector. Previously, the closest the integrator had been to the fresh produce vertical was some clients in the seed growing sector, he said.

Dialog has been a Microsoft gold partner since the NAV platform was introduced over 10 years ago. The integrator now has 140 installations across Australia and 700 staff, Asher said.

In a release, N&A director, Rob Cathels, said the need to replace the current system was driven the complexities of managing an expanding business and the desire to stay ahead of its competitors.
