GDB forges new distribution deal

Matthew Sainsbury 31 October, 2007 10:22:12

Japanese tripod producer, Libec, has appointed GDB International as its sole local distributor. GDB sales and marketing manager, David Cooper, said Libec approached the company on the recommendation of another one of its vendors, Azden.

"We see Libec's products as a natural accompaniment to the other companies we represent," he said.

GDB has access to Libec's entire product line-up, which Cooper said suited customers at all levels of the market.

The niche distributor expects greatest demand will come from the prosumer, lower end markets.

GDB will bundle Libec products with other tripod-orientated goods from Bebop, Azden and nNovia.

GDB specialises in video and multimedia products. Libec sales representative, Reiya Yamaguchi, confirmed the exclusive arrangement.

"We have had many difficulties with sales in Australia and New Zealand because of existing competitors and not being well known in the region," he said. "I believe that we should be marketing activities carefully step by step, and in this area GDB is the most suitable company for Libec."
