TodayTech takes on MSI

TodayTech has inked a new distribution deal with motherboard vendor, MSI.

The partnership will see TodayTech carry MSI's range of motherboards, graphics cards, servers, barebones, communication devices, CE products and notebooks.

TodayTech CEO, Jack Zhong, said the new deal would give the company a significant push in the market.

"TodayTech hasn't had any graphics card in the market, so that fills in our gap," he said. "Other than Intel motherboards, we don't have a low-end motherboard, which is where we believe MSI can offer a good solution.

"We're trying hard to push into the retail market and MSI's CE products are a good fit for us there."

Zhong said he would bundle MSI products with hard drives, chassis, LCD monitors and mobile products. TodayTech joins Leader Computers, Ingram Micro and Altech Computers in MSI's distribution line-up.

MSI channel sales and marketing manager, Harlem Chiang, said TodayTech was well established in the local market.

"They are the right partner for us because they don't have a strong video card and motherboard vendor in their stable," he said. "There's a lot of potential for us to grow our motherboard and notebook business."

MSI is also looking to expand its channel team and hire marketing personnel and up to four sales staff, Chiang said.

System integrators and resellers for the products can access TodayTech's incentive program, TT Online, where they accumulate points through shopping online. Prizes up for grabs include X-Boxes, 24-inch LCD monitors and gift vouchers.
