BenQ W20000

The W20000 employs BrilliantColor colour enhancement technology. This enables higher brightness levels by boosting mid-tine colours. According to BenQ, this results in higher precision of rendered colours. The projector also uses VIDI lighting technology to adjust light by boosting specific colours in different application modes. The W20000 has two HDMI inputs and ISF Certified Calibration Controls (ISFccc) compliant optimisation. This allows the projector to adjust a projected image to the lighting conditions of the viewing environment almost instantaneously. Users can also see movies in original panoramic 2.35:1 aspect ratio with the optional Panamorph lens. The W20000 is compatible with 1080p high-definition, projects at 24 frames per second and is compatible with high-definition DVD players, Blu-ray players and game consoles. The W20000's DLP chip has a 16ms response time and is equipped with a HQV processor that can convert SD content, such as analogue TV broadcasts, to HD-quality video.

Lenovo M500

The Lenovo M500 is designed to suit mobile projection requirements on the road, in classrooms, conference rooms, or at home. It weighs 1.1kg, measures 2.1 x 7.7 x 6.4 inches and is 2.1 inches thick. The projector features a brightness of 1700 lumens in normal mode and 1400 in economy "eco" mode, a contrast ratio of up to 2000:1, HDTV compatibility and DLP technology. It features an integrated laser pointer, mouse control, and page up/down functions. The M500 is compatible with NTSC, PAL, SECAM, SDTV (480i), EDTV (480p) and HDTV (720p, 1080i) video standards. It has passcode security, and a security lock slot that will lock down the projector to a secure surface to reduce chance of theft. Lenovo claims the M500 has a lamp life of 5000 hours in economy mode, and operates quietly at 36dBA (32dBA in economy mode).

Planar PR6020

The PR6020 weighs in at 1.27kg, making it ideal for corporate applications such as conferencing and roadshows where space and ease-of-use are critical. The unit offers 2000 ANSI lumens brightness and two light modes - economy and standard - which allow users to adjust images to the room environment and extend the lamp life. In economy mode, the Planar PR6020 promises lamp life of up to 3000 hours. The projector supports PC and Mac and comes with a 1W built-in speaker for multimedia presentations. It is bundled with a full-featured remote control with laser pointer and page up/down control for seamless presentations and has several anti-theft security features including a built-in Kensington Security lock slot. The unit also has an all-glass zoom lens, digital keystone correction, full function keypad, is tripod mountable, and operates at 38dBA in economy mode. Mitsubishi FL700

The FL700 is a 1080p high-definition projector with split (side-by-side) screen display. It delivers images with 5000 ANSI lumens brightness and is ideal for large function rooms and conference halls, Mitsubishi claims. The projector operates at 29dBA and comes with optimum lamp temperature control, extending lamp life to up to 4000 hours. Enhanced connectivity is provided through the RJ45 connector and AV management with the ease of LAN control. The FL700 is bundled with projector view software. This allows users to remotely manage several projectors connected to the network. The software also has an email alert feature to warn users when a projector needs attention. Anti-theft features include password security, as well as motion alarm and screen capture designed to prevent physical theft through software passwords and a high decibel alarm. The FL700 projectors also uses Mitsubishi's sRGB colour profi le technology, which eliminates hue variations and aims to match the way colours look in real life.

Toshiba ex20

The ex20 extreme short throw projector is designed for boardrooms and classrooms with limited space. It will function as close as 50cm from the projection screen and project a two-metre screen from as little as 1.2m. The projector connects to wireless and Gigabit Ethernet networks via Windows Vista Network. Alternatively, users can project through a USB stick or built-in port. The ex20 has a brightness rating of 2300 ANSI lumens and an XGA 1024 x 768 display with 2000:1 contrast. According to Toshiba, Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor technology and a NCE 4 chip combine to provide high quality colour. The ex20 also has a remote control with a laser pointer, password protection and panel lock, digital zoom functions and a programmable user logo.
