VMware hosted its Australian partner awards at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 14. Over 200 partners were in attendance to indulge in some serious networking at pre-dinner drinks before heading into a three-course dinner.

There were five awards presented on the event. The winners were:

  • Advantage Plus Partner Award 2008 – Datacom Australia
  • Partner Technical Achievement Award 2008 – Gen-i
  • Rising Star Award – ViFX
  • Market Maker Award 2008 – Dimension Data
  • Regional Partner of the Year – Thomas Duryea

The partner dinner followed the Partner Exchange 2008 event held on the eve of VMware’s Virtualisation Forum 2008. Alongside presentations from regional and international executives, the event included over 60 partner exhibitors. According to VMware staff, over 500 partners registered to attend, as well as over 1200 customers.
