Netgear WG102
With speeds of up to 108 Mbps, Netgear's WG102 delivers wireless access to corporate network resources, email and the Internet for mobile workforces. It offers enhanced security measures, simplified management and configuration, extended range and integrated IEEE 802.3af PoE and furnishes standards-based enterprise-level functionality. The WG102 comes equipped with a detachable 5dBi antenna. The product is compatible with IEEE 802.11g (2.4 GHz), is 802.11i-ready and supplies SNMP MIB I & MIB II, 802.1x, and WPA security support. It is Wi-Fi Certified and plenum-rated; WDS supports bridging and repeater modes. The WG102 is distributed by BMS, Express Data, J Mills, Synnex, Ingram Micro, TecVic and Tecksel.

Symbol WS5100
Symbol Technologies has released a high-capacity WS5100 wireless switch for large healthcare, education, retail and corporate Wi-Fi deployments. It provides enhanced security with mobility and scalability. The WS5100 simplifies day-to-day operations with unified management of hardware, software configuration and network policies. Centralised management also enables the automatic distribution of configurations to all access ports. The WS5100 supports a heterogeneous device environment and provides the wireless infrastructure needed to support higher data throughput and additional mobile workers, the company said. The product is distributed by Warp Systems.
RRP: The WS5100 is available from $3069 for a six-port switch, scalable in additional six-port allotments up until a 48-port option costing $18,834.
3Com WLAN bridge
The 3Com Wireless 11g 54Mbps Building-to-Building Bridge lets users replace lower-bandwidth T1 lines and cable connections with high-bandwidth wireless building-to-building links. Connection is possible at distances up to 16.9km, depending on the antenna selected, according to the company. The wireless Ethernet bridge lets users start with point-to-point, then advance to point-to-multipoint as growth and applications demand-all with an antenna change. The bridge works with any other Wi-Fi certified access points in large multi-vendor environments. The product is distributed by Ingram Micro and LAN Systems.

Cisco Aironet
Cisco Aironet 1130AG Series IEEE 802.11a/b/g access points provide high-capacity, high-security, enterprise-class features, according to the company. Hardware-assisted Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or temporal key integrity protocol (TKIP) encryption provides support for interoperable IEEE 802.11i, Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) or WPA security. The 1130AG Series also incorporates Cisco Aironet radio technology. Two radios provide simultaneous support for 802.11a and 802.11g standards, delivering 108Mbps data rates in the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands. It avoids interference in congested airspace, simplifying the deployment of high-capacity networks. For smooth migration, the 1130AG Series takes advantage of the dual-band capabilities of today's WLAN clients, while providing full backward compatibility for legacy 802.11b clients. The product is distributed by Express Data and LAN Systems.
