Ricoh Australia has appointed a new managing director, who plans to transform the way the company operates.

The new MD, Les Richardson, has had over 20 year’s experience in the industry. He worked at Ricoh rivals Canon Australia from 1977 to 2001, holding positions including MD of Canon Australia subsidiary Canon Office Machines.

Richardson joined Ricoh in 2001, initially as general manager of Systems support.

He has big plans for the company, including changing its very focus.

Richardson's short term goal is to transform Ricoh Australia from what is perceived as a 'box manufacturer' into a service delivery company that helps businesses manage their ever increasing flows of information.
