Telecom NZ to build environmentally sustainable offices

Has commissioned a five-star green rated building from the Wellington Company.

Telecom Corporation of New Zealand (ASX:TEL) plans to develop purpose-built environmentally rated offices in Wellington, New Zealand.

The company has commissioned the Wellington Company to build two interconnected offices linked by a glass atrium.

The 26,000 square metre development will house 1,700 employees from across the company.

The building is expected to meet the requirements of a 5 green-star rated building under the new rating scale developed by the New Zealand government.

The complex will feature active chilled beam cooling technologies, energy efficient lighting, solar panels and a thermally active exterior.

Further, during constructed materials and technologies which minimise environmental impact will be selected.
