Security vendor, Marshal, has appointed Warren Bailey as its new Australian channel manager in an attempt to reinvigorate its partner base and stimulate new business.
Bailey comes into the role with six years of IT experience and a solutions selling background. He was most recently with Kaz Group and replaces Tim Taylor, who left Marshal to pursue other endeavours.
Bailey said Marshal would make some changes to its channel set-up. It planned to launch two new programs - a sales and leads generation portal, and MarshalStars, which was a rewards program for resellers.
"A major focus for us is to provide the tools to grow the business, so we'll be using sales resources such as telemarketing, pre-sales assistance and joint sales meetings between Marshal and our resellers," Bailey said. "We're really looking to over-achieve our sales targets, so we've built a motivated and active sales team who will be aggressively growing the channel on a weekly basis."
Marshal is also going on a national reseller roadshow this month. The event will visit every state and involves full-day demonstrations and technical training.
The vendor's current focus is on content management and preventing data leakage. It has just released WebMarshal 6.0, which combines Web access control, Web threat security and data leakage prevention functionality.
Bailey said he took the role with Marshal because it was an international company and well understood by the channel.
