Combined Media Resources on a Single Board Provide Greater Choice and Flexibility for Building Standards-Based Media Servers and Media Gateways

Melbourne Australia — 27 April 2004 — Westan Pty Ltd now offers the Intel® NetStructure® DMV600BTEP, DMV1200BTEP, and DMV3600BP combined media boards from Intel. These building blocks support up to 1200-plus ports of call completion and media processing in a single server, providing developers with broad choice and enhanced flexibility for developing high-density, standards-based media servers and media gateways.

These building blocks combine a universal port solution, a robust set of media features — including voice processing, speech recognition, fax, and conferencing capabilities — with an extensive suite of network protocols in a single PC slot.

"These high density cards enable Intel’s partners to satisfy growing market demand for powerful, flexible converged communications solutions like color ring tones, multi-media messaging, conferencing and speech recognition." explained Sandra Rivera, director of marketing, Intel Network Building Block Division

Maximum Flexibility DMV-B series cards can be configured as T-1 or E-1 interface, support Global Call software, TrueSpeech* voice coder (a default coder with Microsoft* Windows* supported by Windows Media Player), Intel® Dialogic® Continuous Speech Processing Technology.

"By offering so much flexibility, these combined media and network interface boards allow us to help our customers significantly reduce total cost of ownership for sophisticated communications applications," explained Robert Wellard, Communications Division Manager, Westan Pty Ltd

Three Configurations The boards are available in three configurations with different densities:

• Intel NetStructure DMV600BTEP Combined Media Board — A dual-span board (2 T-1 or E-1) with 60+ ports of media

• Intel NetStructure DMV1200BTEP Combined Media Board — A quad-span board (4 T-1 or E-1) with 120+ ports of media

• Intel NetStructure DMV3600BP Combined Media Board — A resource board with no network interfaces and 120-576 ports of media
