Founded in 1988, Westan opened its doors as an exclusive distributor of Western Digital Hard Disk Drives in Melbourne, Victoria. Since then, Westan has become a leading provider in emerging technologies and has grown to become one of Australia’s premier national distributors with sales and warehousing sites across the country.

Westan operates 5 different divisions with it's core business remaining within the IT channel.
The IT Division provides a range of hardware solutions as well as professional services to cater for industry need. Westan is the master distributor for brands such as Samsung, Western Digital, NEC, Epson, Infocus and many others. An ISO accredited build facility is located at the Company’s head office in Mount Waverley catering for a wide variety of projects – from single unit builds to several hundred at a time. The facility assembles and configures desktops, servers, storage sub-systems and media centre hubs tailored to specific client project requirements.
The Consumer Electronics Division distributes a wide range of audio visual (AV) products to dedicated Electrical Retailers, Specialist AV Installers, Home Theatre and AV Retail and many others. Its focus is to provide a complete suite of audio and visual products from a collection of world class brands. Samsung, Epson, Infocus and Usher are examples of internationally recognized brands offering a complete product portfolio that provides a total solution for any AV requirements. From commercial to residential plasmas and LCD to audio speakers and full 1080p projectors, Westan CE Division has a wide variety of well known, well-featured and highly reputable products.
As Dialogic’s Australia and NZ Authorized Distributor, the MSCT Division’s goal is to provide value-added distribution services and support for a wide range of open telecom hardware and software components. These include field-proven media and signaling gateways, high-density multimedia processing solutions, IP media servers/MRFs and signaling protocol software at multiple levels of integration. Complementary products exist to add value to the range and it includes industry leading technology vendors such as speech recognition from Nuance, Paraxip call progress analysis, Envox tool kits and a range of telco grade servers and platforms.
The Business Communications Division is dedicated to delivering better communication with better productivity and performance with the lowest Total Cost of Ownership to its SME and corporate markets. With global demand for HD Video and Telepresence accelerating, the division’s focus is supplying sophisticated solutions that integrates seamlessly, is simple to use and superior to current market offerings.
In June 2007, Doro Australia became a retail division of Westan and has been the exclusive distributor of the Doro Telecommunications brand throughout Australia & New Zealand.

Market Differentiator:
Westan remains as one of the few IT distributors that has a complete product offering in the consumer electronics range. Because of Westan's relation with Samsung, it has access to Samsung's entire product range from commercial to residential and from brown goods to white goods. Westan is also the sole distributor for the highly awarded Usher Speakers. These state-of-the-art designed speakers have been most sought after because of its meticulous design and audio precision at a price that compares to no other.

Channel Programs:
Westan works closely with our channel in order to develop suitable VoIP and storage systems and also provides all necessary training in these fields, including deployment assistance if required. Westan also conducts lead generation exercises, such as print advertising on behalf of resellers with our exclusive products. We work closely with its vendors in order to secure any marketing assistance for our resellers where applicable.

Credit facilities:
Cash Before Delivery Terms available to all resellers. Payment can be made via direct deposit, EFT or credit card. Visa, Master Card and American Express Cards are accepted. Please note that surcharges apply to credit card transactions.
Application for credit is available to Westan Resellers who have shown consistent trade for at least 3 months. Credit application is subject to approval.
