Dipping its toes into the local small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) waters, Sun Microsystems has opened a Sun Ultra Shop in Shamshuipo's Golden Computer Center here in Hong Kong.

In response to the constraints faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in implementing IT projects to support their businesses, Lotus and its business partners have come up with a Business Manager software package to ease the process.

As part of its efforts to capture a larger slice of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) market, IBM is planning to launch a service bureau in the fourth quarter this year that will allow SMEs to link up and use the bureau's business applications remotely.

Tech Pac faults reseller on slow payment

Local computer products reseller Lotus Computer and one of its owners are facing legal action from distributor Tech Pacific Hong Kong for allegedly failing to pay for $US31,278 worth of goods. Lotus Computer purchased Microsoft keyboards and game pads, Motorola handwriting recognition software, and Intel CPUs from Tech Pacific last September and October, and the company still had not paid for the goods three months after the invoices were due, according to a Tech Pacific executive.
