The Olympus Mju Tough 6000 digital camera is the little brother to the Olympus Mju Tough 8000, but it doesn't take a step back in the photographic stakes. It’s a compact, ruggedised and automatic camera that’s useful for snorkelling, bushwalking, skiing and countless other outdoor activities.

There's no doubt the Windows XP-based MSI Wind U120 netbook looks good. Its white lid and palm-rest contrast beautifully with the glossy black bezel of the screen and the matte black base; but the Wind U120 offers more than just good looks. You get plenty of useful features, good battery life, and an ultraportable notebook that's easy to use.

Dell today unveiled what it claims is the world's thinnest laptop. The Adamo will be released under the Adamo by Dell brand name. Aimed at users who are after a fashionable and well-crafted product, the Adamo will be priced from $3699 for the standard model, which has a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128MB solid-state drive.

With a bright 10.1in screen, big keys and an ExpressCard/54 slot, the HP Mini 2140 is easy to use and has more functions and capabilities than most netbooks on the market. It's marketed as a netbook for business users, but it doesn't have an unreasonable price tag. In fact, if you don't mind spending close to $1100 for a netbook, this ultraportable laptop is definitely one you need to consider — even if you're not a business user.

Australian ISP iiNet has teamed up with Starbucks to offer its customers free Wi-Fi access at a selection of the coffee chain's stores.

Panasonic has launched its latest range of Lumix cameras in Singapore this week. The new Lumix camera range will be rolled out in stores from March, and will include the new FS series and TZ series cameras, as well as a brand new ruggedised camera called the Lumix DMC-FT1.

HP's Mini 1001TU is a netbook with plenty of style; it's black and it has a 10.2in glossy screen and a swirly pattern on its lid. It has an Intel Atom N270 CPU and runs the Windows XP operating system, and it has plenty of storage space for work files, music and videos. But it's far from perfect.

With its 22in touch screen, HP's TouchSmart IQ518 is one of the most interesting PCs on the market. It offers a new way to interact with a PC, giving it more of a kiosk feel right in your own home.

The M1010 is Fujitsu's first netbook, and it tries to build upon the good work that has been performed by the likes of Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo and MSI. If you were to combine the netbooks from these vendors you'd get a little marvel of a laptop — and the M1010 comes very close to being that marvel. However, it could still use some refinement.

Panasonic's Toughbook laptop computers are designed to withstand rougher than normal treatment from their users. The full military specification models are often used by law enforcement agencies, armies, farmers, scientists and basically anyone who works in rough, wet or sandy environments. Panasonic's Toughbook CF-52 isn't quite up to the full military specification, but it is nevertheless capable of enduring accidental spills, knocks and drops at home, in the office or while on the road.
