ASG Group and Arrow ECS Australia took home partner gongs this week, following appreciation at Symantec’s Asia Pacific and Japan partner summit.

At a channel ceremony in Tokyo, Japan, ASG Group was awarded the Symantec Regional Partner of the Year Award, while Arrow ECS Australia was named Blue Coat Regional Partner of the Year. Both companies are one of six regional awards presented.

ASG Group new world services general manager, Michael Simkovic, said the company is delighted to realise significant growth with Symantec and is planning the next phase of its significant investment with Symantec to deliver the same results in the next year and beyond.

“ASG made strategic investments in Symantec last year and experienced 222 per cent YoY growth across all competencies," he said.

"In addition, the company achieved platinum status from silver within six months. ASG It is a strong and effective partnership."

The Symantec win marks the second gong Arrow ECS Australia picks up this week, having won the Extreme Networks Distributor of the Year Award for Asia Pacific.

The Symantec Partner Awards also include three Asia-Pacific and Japan award categories.

Ingram Micro Asia Pacific executive vice-president and group president, Michael Zilis, said Symantec has always been an important security vendor for the company and that the partnership has grown from strength to strength over the years.

“Ingram Micro is honoured to receive this prestigious award. Apart from a robust partnership in the traditional domain, our upcoming cloud collaboration holds great mutual promise," he added.

"I have no doubt that with the combined strength of Symantec and Bluecoat, we have exciting times ahead."

To recognise the efforts of Blue Coat’s partners prior to its acquisition, Dimension Data Asia Pacific and Japan was titled Asia Pacific and Japan GSI Partner of the Year, MTech Holdings named Asia Pacific and Japan Distributor of the Year, and Telstra Australia Asia Pacific and Japan MSP of the Year.

Symantec Asia Pacific and Japan vice president of channels and commercial, Edwin Yeo, said the partner awards recognise and honour the commitment and dedication of Symantec and Blue Coat partners that have demonstrated delivery of services and solutions to customers during the past year.

The winners were selected based on criteria such as innovation, overall performance in revenue, deal registration, technical and marketing investments, customer service excellence and certification.

"Our partners play a critical role in driving business success and contributing positively to customers across the Asia Pacific and Japan region and I am looking forward to embarking on a journey to define the future of cyber security, together with our partners,” he added.
