Microsoft has named Gavriella Schuster as its new global channel chief, tasked with guiding partners towards to Cloud-focused business model.

As a 20-year company veteran, Schuster replaces Phil Sorgen in the corporate vice president of Worldwide Partner Group role, following his recent internal appointment as corporate vice president of the U.S. Enterprise and Partner Group.

“There has never been a more exciting time to help our partners capitalise on the explosive demand for Cloud services,” Schuster said.

As corporate vice president leading the Worldwide Partner Group, Schuster is tasked with setting the strategy for Microsoft’s partner ecosystem, with a focus on driving digital transformation for partners and customers.

Schuster’s team is responsible for reaching, connecting, enabling, and rewarding partners through "breadth and depth" motions.

“Our partners are vital in helping us deliver on our promise to customers, and I’m deeply committed to helping them build successful businesses in support of our mutual customers,” Schuster added.

With more than two decades of experience with Microsoft, and most recently as general manager for WPG, Schuster takes up the role less than two weeks before Microsoft's annual Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto on July 10.

During her tenure, Schuster has delivered “consistently high business growth” through the commercial segments, ranging from small businesses to global enterprises.

In addition, Schuster has managed and deployed program and product initiatives as well as licensing, pricing and go-to-market strategies.

At the tech giant, Schuster has also led sales and marketing teams across the Server and Cloud business, the Windows Client Commercial business, Enterprise Services, licensing sales and marketing, field business development, training initiative development, segment marketing, worldwide partner marketing and training strategies, and worldwide operations.
