​Synnex complements MYOB move with trans-Tasman POS specialist distribution deal

Synnex signs local partnership agreement with consumer transactions provider NCR.

Synnex has signed a local partnership agreement with consumer transactions provider NCR, becoming a point-of-sale (POS) specialist distributor of NCR solutions in Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the new arrangement, Synnex has distribution rights for NCR’s hospitality hardware line of products including the RealPOS Series and accessories.

“NCR represents an incremental addition to Synnex’s business,” Synnex National Commercial Sales Manager, Ahmmad Issa, said.

“The partnership is in line with our strategy to tap into a market that we couldn’t service before.”

Issa said the agreement complements the recent signing of MYOB to the Synnex Cloud Portal, which became the first accounting software vendor to offer products through a distribution Cloud portal.

As reported by ARN, local partners can now order and bundle MYOB software as well as Cloud-based solutions with existing hardware portfolio through one fully integrated Synnex Cloud reseller platform.

“Signing with NCR couldn’t have come at a better time,” Issa added.

For Issa, the partnership with NCR allows Synnex to provide “fit-for-purpose” hardware and software to the resellers on both sides of the Tasman, with plans in place to develop opportunities with existing common partners, third party suppliers, and end customers, while also expanding the NCR offering to new resellers and end customers.

“NCR recognised the potential for extending our distributor channel in Australia and Synnex was at the top of the list,” NCR Channel Sales Manager of Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Shane Bedford, added.

“NCR chose to partner with Synnex first and foremost due to its breadth in the Australian market and its commitment to the channel and the NCR brand.

“In addition, NCR is looking to establish a solid distributor offering across the region, and Synnex fits this criteria.”

Based in the US, NCR manufactures self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, check processing systems, barcode scanners, and business consumables, signing a similar distribution agreement with Synnex Canada in April 2013.
