South Australian headquartered, Leader Computers, has stepped into the NAS storage market by inking a new distribution agreement with Thecus.
The exclusive deal stemmed from Thecus’ previous arrangement with Altech Computers.
Leader Computers managing director, Theo Kristoris, said it would be stocking the full range of Thecus products across its five warehouses based in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
“We had been reviewing all of Altech’s vendors and we didn’t previously have a NAS product in our portfolio. “This is our first serious step in it, we haven’t done much in the storage space in the past and if it takes off, we’ll look at building up the portfolio,” he said.
“Some of our people have a great relationship with Thecus and we wanted to make sure this product would fit in with our resellers and that they can make margin from it.”
Kristoris said the majority of its resellers are SMB and corporate focused.
Leader is putting on a national roadshow across the country, hitting all the major capital cities in April and May.
“We’ve been doing this for 20 years in Adelaide, it’s been very successful with more than 700 resellers attending, and we’re now taking that on the road,” he said. “We’ve got all the big vendors involved such as Intel, Microsoft, Corsair, Gigabyte, there’s about 22 vendors involved.”
In January, Leader purchased selected assets of Altech Computers after it went into administration on December 3.
The asset purchase enabled Leader to improve its product range, customer service and offerings.
