The newly integrated entity of CSC Australia and UXC Limited aims to create one of the largest IT services companies in the region.

UXC and CSC held an event in Sydney, NSW, with Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation, Victor Dominello.

Retiring UXC Limited managing director, Cris Nicolli, said the newly integrated entity will give customers an opportunity to leverage some of the global alliances in place. UXC has strong ties with Oracle, SAP and Microsoft.

"Clients can get a different value proposition with a combined company," he said. "Part of my job is also helping Seelan through the process of understanding our big business around our customers and strategy."

Nicolli said the acquisition was a rigorous process, but it reached a fair outcome.

"We had no infrastructure or application practises overlap and UXC started embarking on a shared services rationalisation program that will continue," he said.

CSC A/NZ managing director, Seelan Nayagam, said it would be blending both company structures together and it will maintain UXC's practise structure that involves Red Rock, Oxygen, Eclipse, Connect, Consulting, Keystone, Professional Consulting and Telsyte. It had about 100 people working on the integration process between the two organisations.

"We see growth in everyone of our practise areas. We are on a digital transformation and data analytics is a key focus area for us. With our combined practises, we are now number one in cyber security from risk management all the way through to our security operations centre," he said.

"We're a fully integrated organisation. We had our leadership team together in our headquarters and have spent a lot of time going through what the company's going to look like and what we want to be."

In the next couple of months, CSC will also be launching an innovation centre that will showcase the technology evolution towards the digital era.

Nayagam said the acquisition presented an important inflection point in the tech industry in Australia, generating a company worth more than $1.4 billion in revenue.

"As one of the largest IT services companies in our region, we have the breadth and depth to serve Australia’s great innovating companies and governments on their digital transformation journeys," Nayagam said. "Together, CSC and UXC not only have the local knowledge but the global industry and partner expertise to deliver to clients in both the private and public sectors."

Nayagam also spoke about the combined company's 6000 strong workforce across Australia and key technology hubs overseas, with 800 staff residing in CSC's Macquarie Park headquarters. It also has an open headcount for a further 140 staff.

"We are committed to growth, with 75 graduates choosing CSC as a launching pad for their careers. They will have the opportunity to work with our global partners, through our world-scale SAP, Microsoft, ServiceNow and Oracle practices," he said.

"Our regional headquarters will remain at Macquarie Park. To our employees, I would like to say that you will now be delivering the most advanced next-generation technology solutions to over 2500 organisations in our region.
"You will have unmatched industry and application knowledge to draw on, and a reliable, growing organisation to work in."

NSW minister for innovation and better regulation, Victor Dominello, said the government was supportive of companies like CSC Australia that want to innovate and in the next couple of months, it will be announcing its innovation policy in NSW.

"It will present an array of opportunities for companies like CSC," he said. "To have a presence like CSC and UXC coming together in an integrated form gives us strength in NSW."
