Verizon Enterprise Solutions has partnered with Splunk to bring analytics-driven, predictive threat detection to enterprises and government agencies.

As part of the alliance, Verizon has enhanced its flagship managed security services platform by integrating analytics from Splunk Enterprise Security solutions.

The companies said the combination will facilitate the ingestion of data for enrichment with Verizon’s threat context data that can be analysed and correlated to provide actionable security intelligence to enterprises.

Additionally, Verizon said its ability to manage risks is further enhanced by the visibility gained from owning and operating one of the largest global IP networks.

Splunk vice-president of global strategic alliances, Dave Schwartz, said Splunk is thrilled to join forces with Verizon as a flagship managed security services partner.

"We continue to strive to leverage Verizon’s knowledge and experience, and support Verizon’s drive to raise the bar in security services for the benefit of our joint customers and for the industry. We look forward to helping our users better detect, prevent and respond to advanced attacks through our continued alliance.”

Verizon Enterprise Solutions director of product management, Vinny Lee, said Splunk is enabling its next generation platform.

"When you look at what’s available to enterprises today, it’s clear cybercriminals have the advantage. With these new capabilities, we are arming our clients with the tools and systems necessary to shift the balance and make it harder for cybercriminals to succeed,” he added.
