ESET launches Virtualization Security

Vendor also offers ESET Remote Administrator to manage new security solution

Security vendor, ESET, has launched ESET Virtualization Security, the new VMware vShield-based agentless solution.

According to the vendor, the solution was designed to protect sensitive data and to solve the main problems that companies experience in the adoption of virtualization, such as unprotected virtual servers, the need for multiple vendors to protect physical and virtualized environments, and complicated licensing.

ESET product manager, Michal Jankech, said because the solution is a GUI-less appliance, it is easy to deploy and operate and it's trademark light system footprint makes the solution ideal for avoiding AV storms.

The vendor has also released the latest version of its ESET Remote Administrator.

Jankech added, “ESET Virtualization Security is easy to manage thanks to ESET Remote Administrator, which gives IT administrators unlimited access anywhere, anytime.”

The vendor said the Remote Administrator features Mobile Device Management for iOS and allows customers to embrace the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) trend, enabling administrators to configure security-related settings of iOS devices alongside others within their business network.

Jankech said that adding this feature to ESET’s remote management console makes the solution a single pane of glass for their environment.

Additionally, ESET SysInspector has been integrated into the solution, aiming to help administrators track security incidents and system changes for each endpoint by using SysInspector snapshots.
