Engineering consultancy company, Magna Systems, has appointed Heinz Herrmann to head the company as group chief executive.
The new appointment looks to strengthen Magna Systems’ continued growth in the broadcast, telecommunications, government and emergency services industries across APAC.
In the new role, Hermann will report to Magna Systems executive chairman, Robert Clemesha, who said the new hire is a real coup for the company.
“As the broadcast and telecoms worlds converge, there are not many chief executives with experience in both industries and a track record in strategy as well as execution. I’m delighted to say that Heinz is one of that rare breed,” he said.
“We need an energetic, experienced leader like Heinz to maintain high customer satisfaction. His understanding of our key converging industries will shape our strategy and his track record in execution will drive the company forward across Asia Pacific.”
Hermann has established himself as a thought leader in broadcasting and telecommunications having held senior roles with companies including SingTel Optus, Telecom NZ and Siemens.
Most recently, he lead Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and smart recording software company, IceTV, as chief executive for two years and nine months.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead Magna, building on this ethos and expanding our solutions capabilities,” he said. “Magna System’s agility to change with their customers has been a key factor in keeping the company at the forefront of technology.”
