Melbourne restaurant chain, The Pancake Parlour, has experienced simplified business analysis and financial reporting since its upgrade to the global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
The restaurant chain chose Melbourne-based business management software specialist, Evolution Business Systems (EBS), through a competitive tender to deploy the system upgrade.
The Pancake Parlour financial controller, Darren Cotton, said the upgrade made the business nimbler.
“In the past we weren’t able to export our data into Excel, whereas now we can export any report we run into Excel, massage the data and produce reports that are meaningful and relevant to our restaurant managers and our line managers,” he said.
According to EBS managing director, Paul Woods, the on-premise deployment took between 20 and 30 days including training, in-store configuration and transposition of information and report writing.
“Pancake Parlour was coming from a system that lacked adaptability for reporting and we tried to give them the flexibility back with Microsoft’s product. We wanted to give them a snapshot of where they were in the business, where they were going and wanted to help them highlight any issues,” he added.
Cotton claimed the changeover from the old system to the new system was a smooth process.
“I couldn’t be more satisfied with the decision we made to move to EBS, I love working with the guys and the support’s excellent. Not a month would go by where I don’t get an email or a phone call from EBS just checking up to make sure we’re happy with the system. It makes you feel you’re with the right IT partner,” he said.
